Under Graduate ( Education ) courses were started with the initiative of the pioneers of the College with a great vision of imparting teacher education to the underpreviledged sections of the society and is celebrating its Silver Jubilee along with the College.The Department of English was established in 1995 and since inception the Department has been attracting a cross-section of students from all over Pondicherry and neighbouring pockets of Tamilnadu mainly from a rural backdrop. The department introduced various programmes to take care of individual differences among learners and facilitate effective learning of English for students from vernacular medium.It has established itself as a stronghold of teacher education. The faculty members of the Department of English also engaged the Bridge Course at the entry level for the Fresh Students of I YEAR INTEGRATED COURSES in the Academic sessions 2017 and 2018 and proved very successful. This is done with diligence and dedication with a view to foster efficiency and skill in the use of language . The sustained efforts taken by the Secretary, the Principal, the Faculty and the Students are yielding rich dividends.

We are proud to say that our institution is the pioneer institute in the Union Territory of Pondicherry. Earlier it's duration was one year from 1986 to 2015. Now we have two year B.Ed programme since 2015. For the past 32 years we produce quality teachers to serve in and around Puducherry, all over India and abroad.

The B.Ed. degree course is mandatory for teaching in upper primary schools and high schools. National Council for Teacher Education is statutory body which regulates courses in teaching in India. We are affliated to Pondicherry University since the conception of our college.
